Cairn is one of my favorite games I've played this year. It is a 3rd person, climbing sim with survival mechanics. It has excellent narrative, an engaging climbing mechanic and exploration consistently feels rewarding. There’s a real sense of joy in discovering hidden caverns and striking points of interest as you ascend the mountain, each one adding to the atmosphere and story. The score is phenomenal as well, perfectly complementing the experience. While the climbing can sometimes get a bit annoying and tricky, everything else built around it is so incredible that you easily push through the challenge to experience that next vista and story moment.
